How to Clean a Diaper Bag

A diaper bag is a must have item for parents with little ones at home. You can use a diaper bag to pack your baby's diapers, baby wipes, pacifiers, a change of clothes, and more. Especially when traveling, this is very necessary. Because diaper bags are going to be used outside a lot, diaper bags can get very dirty, so it's important to clean them regularly. So how should you clean your diaper bag?

1. Check the label for care instructions

The first thing you should do before cleaning is to check the label on the diaper bag to see if there are care instructions.

2. Completely empty

Remove everything from the diaper bag. Make sure to empty all pockets and compartments. Leave all zippers and buttons open.

3. Shake

Invert it over the large trash can and shake it so any loose debris and dirt falls out. You can do this outside if you want.

4. Vacuum

Use the slim vacuum attachment to remove any remaining dirt, dust and debris inside the bag.

5. Clean with soapy water

Fill a bucket or large mixing bowl with warm water and mild laundry detergent. Dampen a clean cloth and wring it out so it is damp. Then wipe the diaper bag thoroughly inside and out with a damp cloth. Make sure to wipe down all straps and handles in pockets and compartments.

6. Clean with water

Clean with a clean cloth dampened only with water.

7. Let it air dry

Hang the diaper bag somewhere to dry completely before using it. Leave pockets and compartments open to dry faster. It can be used again after drying.
